Ex Hotel Excelsior

San Pellegrino Terme (Bergamo, Italy)
120kW

The Excelsior is one of the historic hotels of the flourishing Belle Époque in San Pellegrino Terme. It was first opened in 1911 and closed in 1985. And after 35 years, restoration work began in 2006 and was carried out in a discontinuous way.

The building was renovated in accordance with the directives of the landscape Authority. The former Excelsior is not a hotel anymore: the upper floors house about twenty class A earthquake-proof flats, while the 700sqm ground floor houses shops and offices.

In 2019, E.GEO installed a geothermal system for heating, cooling and domestic hot water. The 120kW of geothermal energy are generated by one ENX044 low-temperature heat pump and two GSE040 low-temperature heat pumps fed by sixteen 100-metre deep geothermal probes.
